| Dr. Chris J. Frogley |
At the heart of Frogley Chiropractic of Utah is “Dr. Chris” J. Frogley, DC, NMT. Dr. Chris was born in Salina, Kansas in 1954. He moved with his family to Davenport, Iowa in 1958 when his father, H. Ronald “Dr. Ron” Frogley, decided to pursue a degree in chiropractic. The family remained in Davenport upon Dr. Ron’s graduation from Palmer College of Chiropractic (PCC) in 1961. At that time, Dr. Ron was offered a full-time position at PCC from Dr. David Palmer who had recently taken over the college upon the death of his father, BJ.
Dr. Chris grew up in Iowa, and upon graduation from West High in 1973, he fulfilled a life-long dream of serving a full-time, two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) in France and Switzerland. At the completion of his mission, in 1975, he entered Brigham Young University where he met his wife and love of his life, Sharol Lynn Harrison. With Sharol’s family living in Virginia at the time, they were wed in the LDS Washington DC Temple in 1977. Having completed the prerequisite requirements for entrance into Palmer, Dr. Chris and Sharol returned to Iowa to begin his chiropractic education in January of 1979.
Graduation from Palmer in December 1981 necessitated many decisions for the growing family. Then, with two children and a need to become established in a practice to meet the growing financial needs of his family, Dr. Chris accepted an offer from Centro Chiroterapico Umbro (CCU) in Italy for a one-year contract, upon which the family made the move to Europe. One year quickly turned into three as the family fell in love with Italy and all it had to offer. While practicing in Italy, Dr. Chris continued his studies in nutrition and, at the request of the CCU, published the book, Vivere Per Mangiare? O Mangiare Per Vivere Meglio? (Live To Eat? Or Eat To Live Better?).
In 1984, responding to an invitation from his father to join his practice, Frogley Chiropractic, PC, in Davenport, and with their third child on the way, Dr. Chris and Sharol decided to move the family back to the States and settle in Iowa. The practice grew quickly, and when Dr. Ron decided to return to PCC as the new Director of Clinics, Dr. Chris purchased the busy practice and later, when the corporation was formed in 1991, became its president.
Content in Davenport, their lives took another unforeseen twist in 1991 when Dr. Chris was invited to accept a three-year position for the LDS Church to serve as President of one of the its two-hundred-plus worldwide missions. After much prayer and pondering, the family accepted the call. A replacement chiropractor was found to take the bulk of the responsibility for the three-year period, while Dr. Ron resumed management of the practice.
Upon returning to Iowa from three incredible years in Belgium, France, and Luxemburg, Dr. Chris once again took over management of the practice, which began to thrive to the point that it became too large for one doctor to handle. Following their own graduations, Dr. Chris’ brothers, Dr. Scott Frogley and Dr. Cory Frogley, as well as other students from PCC, had all completed preceptorships at the thriving practice throughout the years. But eventually, it became necessary to add a full-time doctor. In October of 1998, Dr. Tony Dietrich, a PCC graduate who had served as an intern in the practice, joined Dr. Chris as a member of the staff.
In 2001, Chris and Sharol made the decision to return to Italy. After selling their home and vehicles, establishing his new practice in Gubbio, and obtaining all the necessary travel documents and visas, the events of September 11th left their dreams lost in the rubble of the Twin Towers. All visas were pulled and the family was left to deal with their disappointment. They remained in Davenport where Dr. Chris continued his thriving practice.
Throughout his career, Dr. Chris has continued to pursue his interests in many fields enhancing his abilities. He is currently pursuing a masters degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. He has also completed certification and has become proficient in several areas of holistic and alternative healthcare, including B.E.S.T. (Bio Energetic Synchronization Technique), Sports Chiropractic, NAET® (Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique), J.M.T. (Jaffe-Mellor Techique), NeuroLink, Acupuncture and TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), T.B.M. (Total Body Modification), and N.M.T. (NeuroModulation Technique).
In 2005, Dr. Ron succumbed to a long illness and passed away at the age of 81, leaving his wife and co-partner in the Frogley family of ten children, numerous grandchildren, and great-grand children alone in Providence, Utah. Concerned about his mother, Donna Lee, and with three of his children having moved away from Iowa (some already living in Utah), Dr. Chris and Sharol prayerfully considered and made the decision to move to Utah to be close to them and to care for his aging mother.
Having since become re-established in his own practice, Frogley Chiropractic of Utah, PC, located in Providence, Dr. Chris also serves as an associate for his brother, Dr. Cory Frogley, at his clinic, Integrated Wellness, in Bountiful, where he primarily treats allergy, auto-immune disorders, and hormonal imbalances through the use of NMT and other alternative treatment processes. In addition to this, he is currently working as the lead practictioner in Integrated Wellness' revolutionary new weight loss program; where he utilizes his NMT and nutritional training to assist patients in achieving life-changing, permanent weight loss, health, and fitness results.
Most of his patients will attest that Dr. Chris has a profound respect for the miracle of the human body and, that this has led to a never-ending search to learn its secrets and how we can live in harmony with our surroundings and achieve the maximum in optimal health and happiness.
